We are delighted to welcome director Marcus H. Rosenmüller and actor Axel Prahl from the Muenster Tatort series to the school screenings. Director Thomas Heinemann from Wuerzburg will also be presenting his film „Paulas Papa und der richtige Knopf im Kopf“ in person.

All these guests will of course be available to talk to the pupils after the screening.

Documentary storytelling does not automatically mean educational films and imparting knowledge. On the contrary: documentary film is a creative way of using reality to tell stories that are interesting and entertaining – just as we know it from feature films.

Filmmaker workshop: Documentary storytelling

Date: Saturday, January 27th, 2024
Duration: 10am to 4pm (incl. lunch break)
Location: not yet determined

In the workshop, filmmaker Maya Reichert, head of the children’s and youth program DOK.education, will use the example of short documentary films to show different narrative styles of a documentary narrative. Together they will work out different stylistic devices, film language and the role of editing. In addition to analysis and theory, the workshop day also includes small practical film demonstrations and a handy package of basic tips that you need to find and address stories and people yourself. And of course there is room for your specific questions.
