With “Asphalt,” the silent film matinee presents a gem from the late period of the era. Live music will be provided by the “Diamond Dogs,” a highlight of the last Regensburg Silent Film Week.

Diamond Dogs
Between country noir and jazz noir, Regensburg-based Diamond Dogs (named after the famous David Bowie song) unfold a dense, cinematic soundscape. Guitar soundscapes, shimmering electronic textures, floating melodies, and a subtle touch of avant-garde interweave to create an atmosphere whose ethereal magic is woven through with warm vocal lines like a glowing thread. For “Asphalt,” the Diamond Dogs create a sound full of elegance and mysterious magic that not only accompanies the film but also expands it into an immersive experience in which sound and moving images merge.
