Short film night in the Central on December 21, 2024

Short films in the kitchen of a shared flat, short films in a forest clearing, short films at the Christmas market: once a year, on December 21, a wide variety of locations up and down the country are transformed into temporary cinemas. There, but also in many real cinemas, the short format determines the program. On the shortest day of the year, over 25,000 viewers make their way between Husum and Constance to immerse themselves in short film worlds on professional or improvised screens. On December 21, television and the Internet will also attract viewers with short films of all kinds. Public institutions, associations, companies, private individuals and, of course, cinemas will be there when a wide audience celebrates short film in all its facets: as an introduction to the world of film for young filmmakers, as a showcase for established filmmakers, as a playground for those who like to experiment. At the same time, KURZFILMTAG draws attention to the high creativity and productivity of the German short film scene.

In cooperation with Central im Bürgerbräu, we are showing the short film program Big Feelings.

The INTERFILM program is about big feelings in an Indonesian couple under pressure to reproduce, in a small talk with God, in a boy whose brother is deaf, and in two starkly different people. That leaves the spawning migration of salmon and an alien who wants to save the world via an enchanted cat. (Released from the age of 16)
