The winners of the 39th International Filmwochenende Würzburg’s audience award have been announced. In the category feature film the festival’s visitors were convinced the most by the Italian production “Io sono Li”. Second place took the German-Norwegian film “Zwei Leben”, while the Irish movie “Jump” came in third. The winner was part of the key subject “Flight. Asylum. Emigration” and about a Chinese woman, who immigrates to Italy and fells in love with a local fisherman – to the dismay of both her and his countrymen.
In the category documentaries the audience voted Silvia Häselbarth’s Swiss movie “Drei Brüder à la carte” to the victory podium. It was followed by the Rumanian production “Lumea vazuta de Ion B.” and “De Andre” from Norway as second- and third place-finishers. Winners in additional categories are: Shorts: 1st “Welcome to Bavaria”, 2nd “Aquel no era yo”, 3rd “Gefallen”. In-House Productions: “Brotherly”

Ein Engländer in Italien und ein Indianer in Bayern
Beim 39.
Unfortunately, Thomas Arslan’s movie “Gold“ won’t be screened at the “Filmwochenende”. Instead, we’re pleased to present the film “Silvi” by Nico Sommer. “Silvi” ran at the Berlinale in the category “Perspektive Deutsches Kino”, where it was received enthusiastically.
Further information about the movie can be found >>here<<
The Turkish movie “Ana Dilim Nerede“ has to be cancelled due to technical reasons on Thursday; the screening at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday will take place however.
The current schedule can be found in the “Online-Programmspiegel“ on our website. The films for the additional playtimes on Sunday will also be announced in good time.
