Marie, who lives with her tame hawk at the foot of the ‘Gamskogelwand’ in the mountains of South Tyrol, befriends the Berlin punk rocker, Rick. He has come to the maountains with his father to learn hang-gliding. The two young people constantly encounter Herbert Sasse, a cranky pigeon fancier who is following his prize-winning breeding pigeon using a radio detection device. But the pigeon has actually fallen prey to Marie’s hawk, and the pigeons’s claw with the vital radio transmitter is now an amulet hanging on Marie’s necklace. Marek Czerny appears, a dubious character who has been promised 10,000 dollars by an oil sheikh for an egg of a young wild hawk. Pretending to be an animal photographer, he persuades Marie to show him a nesting place. He steals the eggs and shoots the hawk that attempts to  protect its nest. Marie an Rick, who have already seen through him, are hot on the tracks of the nest robber. During a struggle that takes place at a dizzying height, the two of them succeed  in taking the hawk’s eggs  back from Czerny. But Czerny does not give up…
