Robert Frank is glad that he found again his camera; at last he can film, but what? A room, his books, a desk, a footlocker, arranged figurines, “my friend Fernando”, a mirror, a rumpled bed, small lamps, waiting to be lit, finally a picture, hidden under a board. It is no diary, no home movie. A present, which assumes the shape of a video film. Pictures in motion, colour, in between black and white pictures, some paintings, fragments of something written. The places he had visited. People, who are close to him. His two houses. Animals, different objects. Moments. Marks on an animated map... Simple objects, photographs, and events prompt Frank to self-conscious rumination. From his homes in New York and Nova Scotia and on visits to friends, the artist contemplates his relationships, the anniversary of his daughter's death, his son's mental illness, and his work.
